Among our various product offerings, Gibbs Interwire offers Blue Tempered High Carbon Strip Steel. Easily identified by its deep blue color, blue tempered high carbon steel has high durability and achieves hardness levels in the RC29-55 range. This provides improved strength & cycle life in springs, clips, clamps, stampings, and washers.
This material has the ability to be strand annealed in final strip width for consistent properties from edge-to-edge as well as possessing controlled mechanical properties to allow for clean/consistent slitting & edging to widths below .100” wide.
Blue Tempered High Carbon Strip Steel can be laser welded & built-up into LARGE spools of at least 1,400 LBS for longer production runs.
Gibbs Interwire can provide blue temper strip down to .15mm or .0059” thickness for light foil applications.
